Hair Lounge at 2201 Wisconsin is offering $50 haircuts on Sunday, September 12, and donating 100% of the proceeds to the Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Care Center.

And on Wednesday, September 15, SKIN Cosmetic Dermatology at 2233 Wisconsin, Suite 230, will donate 10% of the cost of all services performed to the Capital Breast Care Center.

Old Europe at 2434 Wisconsin previews Oktoberfest this Wednesday, September 1, with an evening of live music from 6 to 9 pm. The event is billed as a “Schunkel Abend,” which we believe translates to an evening of linking arms and swaying back and forth. You have been warned. Reservations recommended.

“Balance has claimed the [2121] Wisconsin Avenue space that was formerly SomaFit,” the local gym chain has announced. In honor of this territorial expansion, Balance will host a free celebration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 18. The event will feature refreshments, massages, “classes from Pilates and pole dancing to Balance BootCamp and Tangolates,” and even a strong-man act.

Kitchen at 2404 Wisconsin has announced a new “Southern-themed” cocktail list, coming next week. The list features a few gimmes (mint julep, hurricane) and some GIMMEs (adult root beer float: root beer, vanilla ice cream, bourbon, and Bailey’s Irish Cream) (!!!). Details on the recipe for the “Glover Park Mojito” were not available at press time.

UPDATE: The restaurant just announced that its burgers are half-price on Tuesdays. Still no word on the GP mojito.

Luigi parked his white 2005 Chevy van at the Holiday Inn. When he came back, his window had been smashed and his Dewalt drill was missing.

Shoplifting

Travis went to the Safeway, picked up 18 DVDs (or CDs, or videos—the police report isn’t clear), put them inside a bag, and put the bag under his shirt. A store employee stopped him and called police. Travis was arrested.

Theft

Bernard entered the Savoy Suites Hotel through the front door and walked through the bar and into an unlocked closet. He stole a silver Dolce and Gabbana bag and fled south on Wisconsin on a bicycle.

As of July 1, you can smooth or fill your wrinkles on a whim (as long as the whim hits during the business day).* A walk-in Botox clinic, Luxxery Express, has opened at 2141 Wisconsin Avenue. The new clinic is an outpost of Dr. Ayman Hakki’s Waldorf-based plastic surgery practice. Along with Botox injections on demand, the site offers dermal fillers, laser treatments, and medical-strength skin-care products.

*UPDATE: According to company spokesperson Dannia Hakki, walk-ins are welcome on Monday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Wednesday and Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. The clinic is open by appointment only on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and closed on Sundays and Thursdays.

As of August 23, Washington Sports Club at 2251 Wisconsin is ending its round-the-clock hours. The gym will open at 5 AM on Monday through Friday, at 7 AM on Saturday, and at 8 AM on Sunday. It will close at 11 PM on Monday thru Thursday and at 10 PM on Friday through Sunday. For those with concerns about the new hours, the front desk is collecting suggestion/complaint forms.
