Holiday Inn (2101 Wisconsin Ave.) will close at the end of November, we understand. The property will have a new owner, though we’ve seen no announcement as to who that owner will be. We’d earlier heard that the site was being marketed for mixed-use development, potentially to be anchored by a grocery store.

Luigi parked his white 2005 Chevy van at the Holiday Inn. When he came back, his window had been smashed and his Dewalt drill was missing.

Shoplifting

Travis went to the Safeway, picked up 18 DVDs (or CDs, or videos—the police report isn’t clear), put them inside a bag, and put the bag under his shirt. A store employee stopped him and called police. Travis was arrested.

Theft

Bernard entered the Savoy Suites Hotel through the front door and walked through the bar and into an unlocked closet. He stole a silver Dolce and Gabbana bag and fled south on Wisconsin on a bicycle.

Maura was shopping at Safeway. A man distracted her with trivial conversation while a woman stole her purse.

Rick parked a white 2009 Ford truck at the Holiday Inn. When he returned, his window had been smashed and his GPS was missing.

Nigel left his cell phone on a table at the Safeway and saw a man swipe it. Nigel tried to get the phone back, but the man fled the store and ran south on Wisconsin.
