The monthly supper club at Sprig & Sprout (2317 Wisconsin Ave.) will be 100% vegan this month, according to a press release. “We worked with the female monks of Bien An Tu Temple to develop a taste bud tantalizing and guilt-free meal!” the release states. “Join us upstairs, as owner Jen [Hoang] walks you through 7 courses of what Buddhists have been eating for centuries. The original date of February 17 sold out, so the restaurant has added a second seating on Monday, February 24.
The seven-course prix fixe menu will include Goi Ngo Sen Chay (Salad of Lotus Stem, White Tremella Mushrooms, Carrots, Cucumber, and seasoned Bean Curd with a mix of Viet Herbs) and Canh Chua Chay (Sweet & Sour Tamarind Soup with Pineapples, Tomatoes, Okra, and Ngo Om). The dinner costs $40 per person; reservations are required and there’s a no-cancellation policy.
