The long-awaited Chipotle Mexican restaurant is scheduled to open in mid-April at 2338 Wisconsin Ave., the former home of Pizza Hut. As part of a nationwide contest that starts this month, Chipotle patrons can compete for a chance to win $10,000. Contestants in the “Wrap What You Love” online contest must upload photos of their own beloved items wrapped in gold foil from Chipotle burritos. For details, visit chipotle.com.
Meanwhile, Surfside at 2444 Wisconsin continues to offer its own brand of Mexican cuisine, with its own rewards: margaritas on the rooftop deck.
UPDATE: Chipotle spokesperson Katherine Newell Smith tells us that the opening has been delayed by unspecified “real estate issues.” “We are on track to open on Tuesday, May 17,” she says.
